Upcoming Madrid City Election

Madrid’s upcoming city elections will be held on November 5, 2019.  Those interested in running for either the Mayor, Ward II or (1) At Large seat must complete an State of Iowa Affidavit of Candidacy and a Nomination Petition for Non-Partisan Office with a minimum of ten (10) signatures.  The petition for Ward II can only contain signatures from Ward II.  Please review the Candidate’s Guide with any questions.  You can complete and print the paperwork through the links above or stop by City Hall to pick up paper copies.

The first day to canvass and obtain signatures for the nomination paperwork is August 26, 2019 and all COMPLETED paperwork must be returned to Mary Jo Reese, City Clerk by 4:30 P.M. on September 19, 2019.
