The City of Madrid has experienced a major failure with the mailing and delivery of water bills this month. Water bills are processed on the last business day of every month and taken to the US Post Office as soon as they are completed. Once our local post office receives the bills, they are sent to the main branch in Des Moines for sorting.
Our bills were decimated in the sorting machine this month. Most, if not all, bills were ripped or torn and many were not delivered. We are hoping to resolve this problem with a new bill design, but it may not be implemented before the December bills are created and mailed.
