New Utility Rates as of January 1, 2018.

Effective with the January 1st billing, The City of Madrid introduced a rate increase for both water and sewer and implemented a new stormwater maintenance fee.  State codes require that water and sewer utilities be self-sustaining and all revenue must be adequate for normal maintenance, repairs, and supplies.  Our old rates were not self-sustaining for either the water plant or the sewer plant. The rate increases are as follows:

Water Service (WA): $12.50 for the first 1,000 gallons used and $5.06 per thousand gallons used thereafter.

Sewer Service (SW): $12.20 for the first 1,000 gallons of water used and $4.20 per thousand gallons of used thereafter.

Storm Water Utility Maintenance Fee (SS): A $3.00 stormwater utility maintenance fee will be charged monthly to every water utility customer.  Fees may be higher for commercial customers.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact City Hall with your concerns.
