09/21/20

Officer removed a bat from a residence in the 800 block of South Union Street.

Officer was notified of a pursuit by Huxley Police, westbound on Highway 210 at a very high rate of speed.  Vehicle was stopped before it could reach the City.

Officer followed up with a witness, from a case from over the weekend and set up a date and time for an interview.

Officer spoke to a Madrid resident reference a phone call that he knew was a social security scam.  Also, calls are being made to Madrid residents claiming to be Medicare.  Neither of these businesses will call you on the phone.  If they do, it’s a scam. Do not give your personal information out over the phone.

09/22/20

Officer did background checks on two subjects going door to door for a roofing company.

Officer received records requests for (3) past accident reports.  Officer filled the requests after receiving payment.

Officer spoke to a Madrid resident reference needing assistance with getting a family member off of his property that moved a camper and other items onto it.  Officer spoke to the subject and he was already packing his stuff to move.

Officer spoke to a subject in the 900 block of South Kennedy Avenue, reference needing a copy of an accident report.  Officer supplied them with one.  Officer also received a complaint requesting extra patrol for some suspicious activity around their neighborhood.

Officer followed up on a past case and spoke to a couple potential witnesses.  Information was sent to the Boone County Attorney to add to a file that he has had in review.

09/23/20

Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of North Locust for an identity theft case.  Officer spoke to the victim who stated that she had a direct TV account set up in her name by someone and racked up over a $600 bill.

Officer finger printed a Madrid resident for a job-related background check.

Officer received a complaint of a motorcycle making a bad pass on Highway 17 coming into town.  The motorcycle then turned and followed the Madrid resident through town.  Officer stopped the rider and he apologized for his road rage and stated that it would not happen again.

Officer performed a background check, on a past Madrid resident, for a federal officer that made a request.

Officer performed a follow up interview from an incident this weekend

Officer responded to a civil complaint of property ownership.

09/24/20

Officer was called to Dollar General for a shoplifter. Officer made contact with Messina Warning, from Des Moines, and found her to be in possession of Dollar General property concealed in her purse.  Female was arrested for theft 5th and transported to the Madrid Police Department. Female was cited and released for theft 5th and given a court date.

Officer assisted Madrid Fire/Rescue on an emergency medical call in the 400 block of East 9th Street.

Officer spoke to a Madrid resident reference civil issues dealing with a court hearing coming up dealing with a civil no contact order.

Officer spoke with Madrid resident about possible slander of a family member and violation of a No Contact Order.

09/25/20

Officer assisted Madrid Fire/Rescue with an emergency medical call, in the 900 block of South Kennedy Avenue.  Patient was transported to Mercy Hospital in Des Moines.

Officer assisted a census worker with an address location.

Officer was dispatched to an incomplete 911 call on Maple Ridge Drive.  Officer located the caller who accidently made the call while doing work on a damaged property.

Officer met with a Madrid resident who turned in a lost/found debit card.  Officer will get it returned to its rightful owner.

09/26/20

Officer responded to the area of Maverick and Brodie for a report of suspicious people walking around and looking in houses.  Time delay 25 min.  Officer checked the area, UTL.

09/27/20

Officer spoke to a Madrid resident reference a civil no contact order in place.  She stated that the male had been riding his bike around her residence in the 900 block of South Kennedy Avenue and just wanted extra patrol.

Officer received a call from a County resident reference a phone scam.  Officer gave the caller the number to the Boone County Sheriff’s Office to take the report.

Officer supplied a Madrid resident with gun locks for two weapons that he inherited from his father.

Officers participated in department firearms qualifications.

Officer responded to the 200 block of East 8th Street for a vehicle unlock.  Officer was able to successfully unlock the vehicle.
