Officer was dispatched to the 100 Block of East 9th Street, for an unwanted subject at the residence. The subject left before the officer arrived.
Officer assisted a Boone County Conservation officer, with identifying vehicles that were caught on video trespassing on Swede Point property that is posted for no motorized vehicles.
Officer spoke to a Madrid resident, in the 500 block of West 2nd Street, reference a complaint received about the yard needing mowed and two junk vehicles. Owner stated that the yard would be mowed this week and that she would contact her son about the removal of the vehicle.
Officer spoke to a Madrid resident reference a subject using his current cell phone number on credit related material and him receiving several harassing phone calls. The subject was the previous owner of the number but did not have any contact information or location for him.
Officer called and left a message for a subject on South Union reference a junk vehicle and a yard that needed cleaned up.
Officer followed up on a junk vehicle that the owner was spoken to last week about, in the 300 Block of South Madison Street. Vehicle had been removed by the owner.
Officer spoke to the owner of a lot that is being used for storage at South Madison and East 3rd Street. Officer spoke to him reference two junk vehicles along with miscellaneous appliances. Subject stated that he would get it cleaned up this week.
Officer was dispatched to a careless driver Southbound on Highway 17. Officer stopped the vehicle and found the driver to have no issues. Driver was warned and released.
Officer spoke to a downtown business owner and OK’d them to have a dumpster, on the parking for a couple weeks, while construction on the building occurs.
Officer responded to the 100 block of East 8th Street for a medical call. Officer assisted EMS.
Officer responded to the area of Market and 22nd Street for a report of a suspicious person walking in the area carrying tools. Time delay was several minutes. Officer responded to the area and was unable to locate anyone on foot. Officer remained in the area for extra patrol.
Officer assisted with a medical call in the 400 Block of East 9th Street.
Officer performed a funeral escort for a large funeral in the city.
Officer met with a city employee that turned in a lost/found set of keys.
Officer spoke to two Madrid residents reference needing information on a juvenile to check if she was a runaway.
Officer spoke to a subject wanting to report harassment. After speaking with them it was determined that they lived in Madrid, Arizona. Officer googled the correct phone number to assist the caller.
Officer was called to the 500 Block of East 3rd Street. The owner stated that someone may have tried to enter her basement door to her resident in the early morning hours. Female gave a vehicle description of a vehicle leaving the Flat Tire parking lot at a high rate of speed. Officer will review video and attempt to identify the vehicle and driver.
Officer was dispatched to a hit and run accident that occurred at Casey’s General Store. A vehicle that was parked and unoccupied was struck and a white Grand AM fled the scene south on Highway 17. Officer took the owners information down and then left to attempt to locate the vehicle. Officer did locate the vehicle in the 500 Block of Milwaukee Street and identified the driver as Brandi Wylie-Tully of Madrid. Tully will be cited for leaving the scene of the accident along with not having insurance.
Officer was called to Dollar General for a shoplifter. Officer cited and released a Kaitlyn Pirtle with theft 5th, after recovering an estimated $15 worth of property from her purse.
Officer responded to the elementary school for an alarm.
Officer spoke with two juveniles out past curfew. Officer warned the young men and followed up with their parents the following day.
Officer located a methamphetamine smoking device, in the roadway, at 2nd and Walnut. Officer removed the item and disposed of it.
Officer spoke to a Madrid resident, who gave information about a juvenile that stayed at their house last night, and then left without giving any further info.
Officer spoke to Git N Go reference a lost/found Iowa driver’s license located at the store. Officer returned the property to the owner.
Officer received a report of a runaway from a family in Polk County. Officer located the 16-year-old runaway and took her into custody. Family was called who came and picked her up.
Officer responded to the Meadow Estates Park for an illegal burning complaint. Officer located the offending residence and issued a warning. Officer put out the fire with the property owner’s hose.
Officer provided a funeral escort.
Officer responded to the 100 block of E 2nd for a report of a burglary. Officer spoke to reporting party. Forced entry to the residence. Report made. Case will be under further investigation.
Officer responded to the Cedars for a suspicious vehicle report. The vehicle was located and found to be out delivering newspapers.
Officer responded to the Meadow Estates for a criminal mischief complaint. The victim advised that three boys hit his car with a stick. The boys, 6-8 years old were located and their respective parents contacted. The parties agreed to handle it civilly.
