05/25/20

Officer received a complaint of a white Chrysler parked in the apartment parking lot at the museum for an extended period of time.  Property owners would like it checked on and to have the owners remove it.  Officer located the owner who stated that they would remove it today.  Officer checked at the end of shift and it was gone.

Officer spoke to an employee of the Madrid Car Wash who turned in a lost/found license plate.  Officer will attempt to locate the owner to return it.

Officer spoke to a Madrid resident who reported a baby deer in the Community Garden.  Officer checked on the fawn and found it to be brand new.  Officer informed the caller that the mother would hopefully be back for it.  Officer spoke to area residents so they were aware when they walked their dogs.

Officer received a complaint of a resident in the 100 block of South Union of his neighbor allowing her house cat to run the neighborhood. 

Officer responded to the 100 block of South Union for an incomplete 911 call.  Officer made contact with the family.  It was an accidental misdial.

Officer responded to the 800 block of East Second for a report of a tree branch down on power line.  Officer was able to safely remove the branch from the line. 

Officer responded to the 500 block of Milwaukee for a report of a wanted subject in the area and a possible violation of No Contact Order.  Officer attempted to locate subject.  UTL.

Officer responded to the 800 Block East North Street for a report of a domestic altercation.  Officer arrived on scene and mediated the dispute.  No assault occurred. 

05/26/20

Officer was dispatched to a vehicle that had been entered and items stolen out of it, in the 500 Block of East 1st Street.

Officer was dispatched to a fire alarm at the Madrid Home.  Turned out to be a false alarm.

Officer spoke to a subject reference his daughter being scammed on the internet.  The victim lived in the county so the officer advised them that a Boone County Deputy would have to be contacted.

Officer assisted a Federal Background Agent, with a records check, for a past Madrid resident.

Officer followed up on a hit and run accident that occurred at Casey’s, a couple weeks ago.  Officer issued two citations to Brandi Wylie-Tully of Madrid for no insurance accident related and leaving the scene of a property damage accident.

Officer performed a storm watch after a tornado touched down North of Waukee.

Officer responded to the Madrid Home for a fire alarm.  Officer was disregarded as the alarm was a false alarm.

Officer attempted to locate a wanted subject at various locations in the city.  Officer was UTL. 

05/27/20

Officer spoke to a Madrid resident that reported that his company truck was entered sometime overnight and tools were stolen.  Vehicle was parked in the 500 block of West 1st Street.  Subject will get a list of all items stolen and make a formal report after he returns from work.

Officer spoke to a Madrid resident reference his child almost wrecking his bike due to objects on the sidewalk in the 300 block of West 6th Street.  Officer will speak to the owner of the residence and have the sidewalk cleaned up.

Officer responded to the 200 block of South State Street for a report of a stolen bicycle.  Report taken.  Investigation continues.

Officer responded to the 200 block of South State street for a public assist.  Officer escorted a resident into her home so she could collect personal items.  Resident was in fear of a wanted/violent subject being in or around her home.  Subject was not located in the area.

Officer responded to the 800 Block of East North street for a medical assist.  Officer assisted EMS with a lift assist.

Officer responded to the 500 block of West First for a burglary to a motor vehicle.  Officer took report of miscellaneous tools stolen from a motor vehicle parked in the roadway.

Officer responded to the intersection of 6th and South State for a report of suspicious juveniles loitering.  Officer made contact with two juveniles.  They were off the roadway and causing no disturbance. 

05/28/20

Officer was called reference a suspicious person along the trail.  Officer made contact with the male downtown and spoke with him.  He was working on a downtown building.

Officer attended a zoom meeting reference Economic Development and Visioning Program.

Officer spoke to a Des Moines PD detective reference a hit and run accident in his city.  Officer made contact with the owners who provided proof of sale of the vehicle to a Des Moines resident back in April.  Officer passed on the info to the detective.

Officer spoke to a subject in the 500 block of West 2nd Street reference needing to mow.

Officer left a message for a Madrid resident on North Market Street, reference mowing his rental property on East 2nd Street and removing some appliances and debris from the alley behind his residence.

Officer responded to a vehicle unlock call on N. Market St.

Officer responded to a report of several car burglaries in progress. Officer located two juveniles suspected of the offenses. The suspect’s parents were notified and they were referred to juvenile court services.   

05/29/20

Officer was dispatched to a general fire alarm at the Madrid Home. Turned out to be a false alarm.

Officer finger printed (3) Madrid residents for job related/coaching background checks.

Officer received a call from a Madrid resident reference his son’s dog possibly being out.  Officer located the dog, that was in the yard, and put it back into the fenced in backyard.

Officer responded to the Green Street apartments reference a found firearm.

Officer cited two juveniles with multiple car burglaries and curfew violation.

Officer responded to the 600 block of S. Green Street reference a vicious dog in the area. Officer located the dog and its owner. Remedies were discussed on how to stop the animal from getting away in the future.

Officer responded to the 400 block of E. 2nd Street reference criminal mischief. Officer identified a possible suspect as a juvenile and discipline will be handled at home.  

05/30/20

Officer responded to the 1400 block of 325th Street in the county for a single-car vs deer accident.  Officer was requested to assist by Boone County as deputy was on another call.  Officer provided assistance to motorist until deputy arrived.  Officer removed deceased animal from roadway.

Officer assisted a woman after she heard unusual noises in the attic. Officer checked the attic and found everything to be ok.

Officer followed up on a burning complaint.

Officer responded to S. Union Street reference a small child entering someone else’s house. The officer located his residence and brought him home. It was determined that he snuck out while his mother was asleep.  

05/31/20

Officer met with a citizen that had picked up a dog that was running at large.  Officer located the owner and returned the dog.

Officer responded to Brody Lane reference an issue with a neighbor that vacated the property.

Officer spoke with a man reference a neighbor issue.
