Officer received a records request, for past police calls, to a residence on North Water Street.

Officer followed up on a theft at the Green Street Apartments.  Officer spoke to several subjects there who agreed to bring a juvenile into the police department for an interview.  After the interview, the juvenile male was charged with two counts of Theft and referred to juvenile court.

Officer received a call from a Madrid resident.  He stated that he was contacted by Alliant Energy and they stated that he had an overdue electric bill in one of his rental units. He paid the bill and then found out that it was a scam. If someone calls and states they are from the electric company and they are requesting immediate payment, hang up and call your provider directly to prevent you from losing the money paid.

Officer received a complaint on a property at 5th and Market.  Caller stated that there were vehicles and building material parked on the City right of way and a junk vehicle and other garbage around the garage.  Officer will send the property owner a notice to start the clean-up process.

Officer assisted Madrid Rescue with a medical call at the Cedars.

Officer was dispatched to an unknown 911 call on West North St.  It was determined to be an equipment issue with the phone.  Everything checked OK

Officer assisted with a civil standby in the 500 block of S. State St.


Officer mailed a notice of ordinance violations to a resident in the 400 Block of West 5th Street.

Officer received a complaint of loud music in the 500 Block of Milwaukee Street. Officer made contact with the subject and asked him to turn it down, in which he did.

Officer followed up on a theft case from last week.  Officer passed on information to Altoona PD, Osceola PD, DCI, and a department in Kansas City for crimes that occurred in their jurisdiction.  Several felony charges are pending in Madrid.

Officer received a complaint of a Madrid resident reference debris in the parking, consisting of a tire and a mattress, in the 700 Block of South Union Street.  Officer left a business card on the door asking for removal, when nobody was found home.

Officer spoke to a Madrid resident, that reported his sons’ bike was stolen from the school today, while he attended practice.  He stated that his wife had already made a post on Facebook also, so people could be on the lookout.  A short time later the resident called back and stated that the bike was located.  Officer assisted with the exchange of the bike back to the owner.

Officer responded to a medical call at the Madrid Home.


Officer filled a records request for a Madrid resident.

Officer spoke with a DCI Agent with Lakeside Casino and shared information on an on-going theft case.  Officer sent them information for criminal charges in their jurisdiction to be investigated and charged.

Officer sent up (3) felony warrants to be signed and issued, in an on-going theft case in the City.

Officer towed an abandoned vehicle from the Market of Madrid.  Vehicle was tagged and the owner was given a 30-day notice from the property owner on May 17th.

Officer spoke to a subject regarding a report of theft and criminal mischief in the 500 block of S. State St.  Officer will investigate the allegations.

Officer stopped a vehicle in the 300 block of N. Kennedy.  The driver was warned for improper lamps.


Officer spoke to the head of Security at Prairie Meadows and exchanged information on an on-going case.

Officer assisted a Madrid resident, with getting into their residence after they accidently locked themselves out, in the 600 Block of South Water Street.

Officer received (2) records request from Madrid residents.  Officer was unable to fill one because the information requested is not a public record and the second one was forwarded to the City Clerk due to it not being a Police issue.

Officer received a call from a mother, who reported that her daughter called her 25 minutes previous, and stated that a suspicious suspect had taken pictures of their house.  Officer received a great description of the suspect but was unable to locate the subject because of the time delay.


Officer assisted a motorist with an unlock at the Madrid Home.

Officer responded to Meadow Estates reference a domestic disturbance. It was determined that it was verbal only.

Officer arrested a Robert Smith of Meadow Estates lot #66 for violation of a Polk County protective no contact order.

Officers assisted a motorist with a disabled vehicle.

Officer responded to the Madrid Historical Museum reference an alarm, determined to be false.

Officers responded downtown for a large group of juveniles inside the old theater building. The juveniles were issued trespassing warning and released to family.


Officer responded to a residence in the 800 block of S. State Street.  Incident was determined to be a civil matter.

Officer assisted Madrid Rescue/Boone Co. Ambulance with an emergent medical at the Church of Christ.

Officer took a fireworks complaint, unable to locate the source before they stopped.
