Officer received a call of a suspicious vehicle driving through the new development land and through alley’s off of Kingman Blvd. A vehicle description was given and the officer located the vehicle at Git N Go, broken down. Officer made contact with the two individuals in the vehicle and asked them about being in the area. They stated that they were just driving around. Officer attempted to help them with their mechanical issues with the vehicle but needed more than could be done.
Officer met with a Madrid resident whom turned in some lost/found paperwork.
Officer assisted Madrid Fire/Rescue with taking delivery of new oxygen canisters for the rescue unit, along with picking up used bottles to have refilled.
Officer received a call from a Madrid resident with a question on weapons permits. Officer asked the subject to call the Boone County Sheriff’s Office to answer all the questions on protocols.
Officer was dispatched to a possible intoxicated subject leaving the Tiger Bowl. Officer located the vehicle parked at Dollar General and made contact with the male driver. It was found that the driver had Parkinson’s Disease, which makes him a little shaky. Subject had not consumed any alcohol.
Officer performed a vehicle unlock in the 500 block of E 3rd Street.
Officer was contacted by Madrid postal staff, reference a suspicious message written in the snow in the 400 block of S State Street. Officer checked with the owner of the property and found everything to be OK.
Officer spoke to an out-of-town subject reference a trailer missing from his rental property on 22nd Street.
Officer performed a traffic stop on Hwy 17 by Dollar General. Driver was warned for driving with no visible taillights.
Officer assisted the Boone County Sheriff with a writ on County Line Road.
Officer contacted Condon’s Towing and had a vehicle removed off of E 1st Street that was tagged last Thursday for 72-hour removal. Vehicle had the wrong plates attached to it that were expired in 2016 and no owner could be located.
Officer spoke to a Madrid resident that made a complaint of suspicious vehicle parking at the power plant on N Water Street, on the weekends and different times during the week. Officer informed him to call while these vehicles were present so that an officer could make contact with them.
Officer received a call reference a lost wallet. Officer got a phone number from the caller in case the wallet was located so that it could be returned.
Officer returned a phone call to a law office in Des Moines reference an accident that occurred in the County.
Officer spoke to a Boone County deputy, reference a case dealing with a Madrid High School student. Officer followed up with high school staff who stated that everything was handled inside the school.
Officer performed a vehicle unlock at the Madrid Post Office.
Officer was dispatched to 200 Greene Street for an unattended death. Subject was taken to BCH for further investigation.
Officer was dispatched to 148 W 2nd Street, for the report of marijuana smoke in the hallway.
Officer was dispatched to 100 block of State Street for a report of criminal mischief. The case is currently under investigation.
Officer met with a DCI Agent and received property/evidence that was tested at the lab from an on-going case.
Officer was dispatched to a welfare check in the 400 block of S Main Street. Officer made contact with the subject and then called back family members and spoke to them about options.
Officer was called to the City State Bank for a subject needing to report credit card fraud. Officer took down all the information to start a criminal investigation.
Officer received a call about a loose dog in the 500 block of S Water Street. Officer created a Facebook post about the missing dog and later found the owner and returned the dog.
Officer was notified by Boone County dispatch, of a valid warrant, that was just issued, for a Madrid resident.
Officer received a call of a suspicious vehicle and people going door-to-door on Southern Prairie Drive. Officer made contact with two females and told them that it was illegal to go door-to-door in Madrid without a proper city permit. Officer asked them to leave the City and to contact City Hall for all the necessary permit information.
Officer assisted Madrid Fire/Rescue, on an emergency medical call in the 500 block of Milwaukee Street.
Officer assisted Madrid Fire/Rescue, on a medical call, in the 700 block of E 1st Street.
Officer assisted a stranded Madrid resident after the resident’s vehicle went into the ditch.
Officer assisted city crews with removing vehicles parked on the street for snow removal.
Officer assisted a motorist that ran out of gas near the Madrid Home.
Officer picked up property left by a suspect in an ongoing fraud case.
Officer assisted BCH for a medical call in the 600 block of S Greene Street.
Officer assisted fire department with a grease fire on the 200 block of N State Street.
Officer responded to the Flat Tire Lounge reference a running unattended vehicle in the lot there. Officer contacted the owner who came to shut it off.
Officer assisted Boone County Ambulance with a medical call on Milwaukee Street.
Officer followed up with a fraud case.
Officer was dispatched to 700 block of E North Street for a report of a domestic situation. Officer arrested Thatcher Davis for domestic abuse assault. Officer transported the male subject to the Boone County Jail where he was held.
