12/30/19

Officer was dispatched to the 600 block of South State Street for a vehicle unlock.  The officer unlocked the vehicle without incident, that was running with two dogs inside.

Officer finished a report from an arrest last week and sent all case information to the Boone County Attorney, on the one criminal charge, and to review on another possible criminal charge.

Officer assisted Madrid Fire/Rescue and the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office, with a two-vehicle accident, in the 14000 Block of Zook Spur Road.

Officer gave a death notification after a traffic accident occurred in the northern part of the State.

Officer assisted Des Moines Police with locating the parent of a juvenile they had in their custody.

Officer received a call from a county resident, just North of town, who reported a suspicious vehicle pulled into her property and behind her barn.  Officer responded and found nobody on the property.

Officer was dispatched to a two-vehicle accident at 6th and Highway 17.  Vehicles sustained minor damage in the rear-end collision.

Officer responded to a motor vehicle accident at the Casey’s parking lot.  Accident was non-reportable and driver information was exchanged.

Officer responded to vehicle unlock in the 600 block of Maverick Lane.  Vehicle was unlocked successfully.

Officer responded to a report of a reckless vehicle northbound on Highway 17 coming into Madrid.  Officer located and stopped suspect vehicle.  Driver was issued a warning for his reported driving behaviors.

12/31/19

Officer received a call, from a Madrid resident, after her two dogs got out of the house.  She called back a short time later and stated that they were located and were safely back home.

Officer conducted a bar check at the Flat Tire Lounge.

Officer responded to a report of multiple vehicles doing burnouts in the 200 Block of North Market.  Officer attempted to locate.

01/01/20

Officer responded to the 200 block of East Third Street for a civil stand-by.

Officer responded to the 500 block of East First Street for a driving complaint.  Officer located that subject and vehicle and spoke to them about their driving.

Officer received a report of an erratic driver southbound on Hwy 17.  Officer was unable to locate the vehicle.

Officer responded to the 400 Block of North Water St for a medical assist.  Officer assisted Fire/EMS.

01/02/20

Officer tagged a vehicle, that was parked on the wrong side of the road, in the 100 Block of South Water Street.

Officer served an official notice to a downtown business owner reference an unsafe building issue.

Officer taught several classes at the Madrid Junior High School.

Officer located a dog running at large.  Officer returned the animal to its owner.

01/03/20

Officer met with an Iowa State Patrol Officer and retrieved property from an accident for a Madrid resident.  Officer met with the Madrid resident and returned the property.

Officer spoke to a Madrid resident who reported a dark car that speeds on West 2nd Street late at night.  Officers will be on the lookout for the vehicle.

Officer received a call from Madrid High School staff in reference to two truant students.  Officer checked on both students and found the first one to be sick and the second to have over slept.  Officer gave the second student a ride to school to assist the mother.

Officer performed a vehicle unlock at the Madrid Home.

1/4/20

Officer took a report of a theft from Casey’s. The suspect was identified and charges are pending approval from the victim.

Officer responded to attempt to locate a vehicle doing a poor job of driving. Officer located the vehicle however did not see any probable cause to allow for a stop.

Officer assisted rescue and ambulance with a medical call at Casey’s.

Officer followed up on a theft from the previous night.
