12/26/18

Officer spoke to a Boone County resident reference a civil issue dealing with a vehicle, that he and his adult son own together.

Officer received a message reference a lost and found wallet at a business in the City.  Officer returned the call and left a message.

Officer spoke to a Madrid resident reference a Minnesota criminal case.  Officer recommended that the subject contact the County Jail where the crime occurred for public information available on the case.

Officer performed a vehicle unlock in the 200 Block of East 6th Street.

Officer was dispatched to the North side of town reference possible gunshots heard.  Officer was unable to locate anyone in the area.

12/27/18

Officer assisted Madrid Fire/Rescue with an emergency medical call at the Madrid Home.

Officer returned a phone call from dispatch and then stopped at a residence in the 400 Block of South Water Street.  Officer spoke to the subject about some family issues.

Officer received a complaint of junk in a yard on East 1st Street.  Officer spoke to the owner of the property and asked them to remove the items.

Officer responded to a trailer at Meadow Estates after a neighbor called in a very loud argument. Officer interviewed both parties separately and determined there was no physical contact during the disagreement. Parties agreed to try to work things out more amicably going forward.

Officer responded to a report of a vehicle door ajar on W. 2nd Street. Officer located the owner who advised of a mechanical issue with the door latch and did not find anything out of place or missing.

 

12/28/18

Officer was dispatched to a reckless driver on Highway 17 Southbound.  Caller stated that the vehicle was only traveling 20 mph.  Officer made contact with the driver and found him driving slow to poor road conditions due to weather.  No improper actions were noted by officer.

Officer took a report of a stolen debit card.  The crime occurred in Des Moines. The officer took the initial report and instructed them that they needed to contact Des Moines for the formal investigation.

Officer attempted to locate vendors in town going door to door, after speaking with City Hall about all the requirements.  Officer was unable to locate the salesmen.

Officer followed up with a subject whom requested extra patrol regarding possible trespassing on their property.

Officer spoke to a subject regarding a parking issue.

Officer spoke to a Madrid resident reference a civil issue.

12/31/18

Officer unlocked a vehicle for a resident on Southern Prairie Drive.

01/01/19

Officer took a complaint of harassment via electronic device.

Officer was notified by the victim of a motor vehicle theft that they located their vehicle at a towing facility in another town.  The vehicle was recovered by the victim, charges are pending further investigation.

01/02/19

Officer spoke to high school staff reference a possible issue at school.  Officer followed up at lunch time and spoke to staff also.

Officer was dispatched for a welfare check in the 100 Block of East 8th Street. Everything checked out OK.

Officer assisted Madrid Automotive with an insufficient check case.

Officer received an email from a Madrid resident, reference ordinance violations on (5) different properties in the City.  Officer drove around and looked at all the properties and emailed the complainant back.  Officer will work with the property owners to assist them in cleaning up their property and serve notices in the spring if no improvements have been made.

Officer was dispatched to the 500 Block of Milwaukee Street to assist a Madrid resident with a vehicle having issues with a wheel-chair ramp.  Officer fixed the problem and then followed them out to the Madrid Clinic to make sure they were able to get out on the ramp.

Officer was dispatched back to the Madrid clinic to assist with the same above issue.  Officer assisted them in loading the Madrid resident, and then followed them home and assisted in getting them safely inside.

Officer received a pick-up order from Story County, on a Madrid resident.  Officer located the male subject in the 100 Block of East 8th Street and took him into custody.  Officer transported him to Slater and turned him over to a Story County Deputy.

Officer filled two record requests for a Madrid resident.

Officer and Boone Deputy responded to a call for a robbery in progress inside a residence.  After making contact with the residents it was determined no robbery had taken place.  Boone Hospital was called to the scene for a patient transport regarding a medical issue.

01/03/19

Officer performed a vehicle unlock in the 100 Block of South Dalander.

Officer spoke with a caller who lived outside city limits, but had questions regarding identity theft and a possible burglary that occurred at his residence. Officer gave the man a few suggestions and referred him to make a report with the Boone County Sheriff’s Office.

01/04/19

Officer sent an insurance company a copy of a past accident report, after receiving a request.

Officer performed a traffic stop on a vehicle, bearing no license plates, at State and 22nd.  The owner had all the necessary paperwork for the recently purchased vehicle.

01/05/19

Officer responded to a vehicle roll over South of Madrid along with Madrid Fire Rescue, Iowa State Patrol, Polk City Police Dept and Polk City Fire Department.

Officer received a report of illegal burning of yard waste.  Homeowner was putting the yard debris out with a hose prior to officer arrival.  Officer advised.

Officer fulfilled a records request for video of a council meeting.

Officer stopped a vehicle pulling another vehicle without proper lights to the rear. Officer determined the driver was revoked. Officer arrested Jerry Moore of Des Moines for driving while revoked and transported him the Boone County Jail.

01/06/19

Officer returned property to subject that was arrested the night before.

Officer was requested for a civil stand by in the 500 block of Milwaukee Street.

Officer was advised by dispatch of a 911 hang-up.  Last known address for caller was in the 700 block of E. North Street.  Officer checked the residence and it was no longer a good address for the caller.  Officer had no other information to follow up on.
