MPD Blotter December 10 – December 16, 2018

Officer was called reference a welfare check in the 100 Block of Jonathan Drive.  Officer made contact with a subject that had overslept.  Everything checked out OK.

Officer towed (2) junk vehicles from the 300 Block of East 6th Street.

Officer unlocked a vehicle for a subject at the Flat Tire Lounge. 


Officer spoke with the Madrid Market reference assisting with donating meals for Shop with a Cop again this year.

Officer spoke to a Madrid business owner reference an issue with a vehicle registration.  Officer gave the subject information on the process of getting a duplicate title.

Officer finger printed a subject for a job related back-ground check.

Officer spoke to a Madrid resident about a vacation house watch.

Officer spoke to a Madrid resident reference a complaint received on him having chickens.  Subject was invited to the next council meeting to speak his concerns.


Officer performed a vehicle unlock in the 500 Block of East North Street.

Officer was dispatched to Dollar General for a shop lifter.  Officer had an extended response time due to dispatch giving the call to Boone PD first.  Suspect had left before the Officer arrived.  Officer gave dispatch a description of the vehicle that left Northbound on Highway 17.

Officer finger printed a Madrid resident for a job-related background check. 


Officers had a meeting before going into an interview, with another agency, on an on-going case.

Officer spoke to the new property manager at Meadow Estates reference sharing information on issues inside the park.

Officer along with a Boone County Deputy went out in the 600 Block of West 5th Street, to attempt to locate a subject with a valid Boone County Warrant for failure to appear.  Officer located Volanda Stamper.  She was placed under arrest for the warrant and the Boone County Deputy transported her to the Boone County Jail.

Officer received a report from a subject that used to live in the City, that a package had been delivered to his old address in the 500 Block of South Water Street.  He stated that FedEx had delivered it but that the new residents denied getting it.  Officer stopped to speak to the residents but nobody could be reached.  Officer will follow up on the call.

Officer was dispatched to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Locust and 1st Street (Highway 210).  A vehicle driven by Kathleen Edwards of Madrid, struck a vehicle broadside driven by Blake Webster of Ankeny.  Mr. Webster was lost and didn’t realize that he had to yield to Mrs. Edwards. Vehicle damages were estimated at $5000 but there were no injuries reported.

Officer assisted Madrid Fire/Rescue on a lift assist in the 500 Block of Milwaukee Street. 


Officer assisted Madrid Automotive with an insufficient check case.

Officer filled a records request for a Madrid resident on past calls in reference to his family.

Officer assisted Madrid Fire/Rescue in the 800 Block of East North Street on an emergency medical call.

Officer performed a vehicle unlock at Casey’s.

Officers responded to a report of a runaway 10-year-old female near the elementary school. Officers located her hiding in some bushes. The juvenile was returned home.

Officer responded to a report of a two-vehicle accident near Kennedy and 22nd Street. Officer assisted with exchange of information and gave both drivers a copy of the report.

Officer met with a subject at the Police Department to give them a copy of a report pursuant to a request.

Officer took a phone call reference a car/ deer accident several miles outside city limits. The Officer gave the caller the number for Boone County Dispatch Center and ask them to send a Deputy to assist them.

Officer received a call of a 10-year-old female that ran away.  Officer’s looked for the subject, along with family members. Female was located and returned home safely. Officer was dispatched to a two-vehicle accident on Highway 17 at 22nd Street.  Accident resulted in minor damage to the vehicles.  Officer did an information exchange. 


Officer received a call of a minor traffic collision in the 400 block of W. 1st St.  Officer provided an information exchange for both drivers.

Officer responded to a medical call at The Cedar’s of Madrid along with Boone Hospital and Madrid Rescue.  The patient was transported by Boone Ambulance. 


Officer received a call from a Madrid resident, who spoke to him about possible future issues with a family member.  The caller requested extra patrol.
