Officer was dispatched to return a call to a subject on North Water Street, reference a subject returning an animal and when she did, she opened the door and just let the animal in, and left the door open.  The caller did not like this due to there being an infant in the house.  Officer contacted the other half and gave them a trespass warning for the property.

Officer responded to a dispute at County Line Trailer Park, dispute was about the eviction process.


Officer was dispatched to return a call to a DHS staff member reference a case that started in 2019, that is on-going and has been in review by the Boone County Attorney for some time.


Officer received a complaint of junk vehicles parked in Veteran’s Square and on the sidewalk in the 100 block of East 3rd Street.  Officer spoke to the owner’s brother about these vehicles and requested that they be removed.  Officer had previously spoke to a subject about these vehicles and he had moved back to Texas.  Officer was informed that a transport trailer had already been hired to come up and pick up the five vehicles in question, and transport them to Texas on September 25th.  Officer informed the brother that they need moved and relocated before then, so Madrid residents were able to use City parking.  He stated that he would do that.

Officer stopped a semi-tractor trailer that was smoking heavily from the rear duals.  All four brakes had locked up and caused them all to overheat.  Officer assisted the driver and he finally called to get assistance so that it could be returned to the owner’s shop for repair.

Officer assisted a Madrid resident with giving them contact information for the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.

Officer spoke to a Madrid resident who was having issues with a tree company from Minnesota that came down for storm repairs.  Subject stated that he felt like he was taken advantage of by a storm chasing company and that he had been yelled at over the phone by him and threatened that he was coming down today for payment.  He stated that he wanted law enforcement there to make sure there were no issues.

Officer was dispatched to a minor accident at East 3rd Street and South Cedar.  A construction worker struck a parked tree truck with a piece of equipment and done minor damage.  Officer did an exchange of information for both parties.


Officer finger printed a Madrid resident for a job-related background check.

Officer spoke to a Madrid resident reference a possible fraud case dealing with tree removal after the storm.  He was hired by a family and then after the work was completed, they quit returning any calls or messages, and put the house up for sale.  Officer will follow up with the owners of the property to get more information to see if the case is handled in a criminal or civil manner.


Officer responded to a domestic related call at the Meadow Estates.

Officer returned a call to a woman reference a civil standby stemming from a domestic assault arrest.

Officer took a report of a theft.

Officer assisted Madrid Fire/Rescue, with a medical call in the 500 block of Milwaukee Street.

Officer worked the home football game.


Officer removed debris from the roadway that appeared to have fallen off a vehicle doing tree cleanup.

Officer made contact with a subject that was called in as a suspicious person in the 300 block of N. State St. Determined to be a census taker.

Officer removed shopping carts from Hwy 17 that had been moved there from Dollar General.

Officer dispatched to a domestic situation at 917 S Kennedy.

Officer performed a traffic stop Hwy 17



Officer took a complaint of suspicious activity happening at the elementary school playground after dark. Police will provide extra patrol.

Officer responded to a report of a smoke alarm going off at an elderly person’s home on Kingman. Officer assisted them in resetting it and changing out the batteries.

Officer took a report of two vehicles seen recently driving erratically through a neighborhood. Officer advised the complainant that we would be on the lookout for the vehicles and for them to call in if they see the behavior in their area again.

Officer took several reports of vehicle burglaries in the 200 block of Maple Ridge Dr. Ongoing investigation, if anyone has any information regarding these burglaries please contact Madrid Police Department.


Officer received a report of an erratic driver in the area of Kennedy and 6th Street.  Officer checked the area and was unable to locate.

Officer assisted Madrid Fire-Rescue/Boone Co. Ambulance in the 100 block of N. State Street on a medical call.

Officer spoke to a resident in the 100 block of Jonathon Drive in reference to the vehicle burglaries that occurred on 9/6/20.  Resident had video from several cameras located at his residence.


Officer responded to a two-vehicle personal injury accident in the 900 block of S. Kennedy drive.

Officer advised of a fire alarm at the Madrid Home.  Officer was advised it was a false alarm prior to arrival.

Officer assisted MFR with a medical call.

Officer advised of another Fire Alarm at the Madrid Home.  Officer was advised again that it was a false alarm and that they were having issues with the alarm system.

Officer assisted Madrid Rescue/Boone County Ambulance with a medical call in the 900 block of S. Kennedy drive.

Officer was called to Meadow Estates for a civil issue.

Officer followed up on past burglaries from earlier in the week


Officer received a call of a possible prowler in the 100 block of Jonathan Dr.


Officer cited a Melody Stokke of Story City with failure to yield upon entering roadway. This stemmed from an accident that occurred on 9/8.


Officer responded to a complaint of a vehicle that was driving too fast on Highway 17 from Highway 415. Officer located the vehicle and spoke with the driver.

Officer spoke with a man reference a civil stand-by stemming from a protective order put in place earlier in the week.

Officer spoke with a man regarding a subpoena he received from Polk County.

Officer responded to a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Hwy 17 and Southern Prairie Dr.  Officer took report, assisted EMS and provided traffic control.

Officer responded to a dog a large complaint.  Officer was disregarded as the owner located the dog, prior to the officer’s arrival.


Officer provided a civil stand by in the 900 block of South Kennedy.

Officer stopped a side by side ATV for speeding in the 700 block of W. North St. The driver, a Talan Harrison of Madrid was cited.


Officer assisted BCH and Madrid Rescue with a medical call at the Meadow Estates.
