Tumblebooks are an online collection of animated, talking picture books. You can read these electronic picture books or have them read to you. Just click on the Tumblebooks link to begin, enter your library card number and access this fun new site.Tumblebooks



Creativebug is an online database featuring thousands of online arts and craft classes such as knitting, home decor and more.   These easy to follow videos are led by award winning artists and experts in their fields.  These classes are for all skill levels including children.  Creativebug is available for residents of Madrid, and rural Madrid . You’ll need to make your own Creativebug account the first time you log in, your library card number will be needed to create an account.  To begin just click on the Creativebug logo below.                                                                                                                     




Brainfuse JobNow/VetNow is an online resource provider for career services, test prep, and software tutorials.  Patrons can access these services after clicking the library’s BrainFuse logoBrainfuse link and creating an account. Once a patron selects a live service, an online whiteboard automatically launches and patrons are able to communicate in live, online sessions with expert job coaches or veteran navigators.



Brainfuse Help Now is and additional online resource.  HelpNow offers a personalized homework help in core subjects (math, reading, writing, science and social studies) including SAT/ACT preparation.  Online tutors are available to help from 2 pm to 11 pm.  Also included is the Adult Learning Center.  Adult learners can access GED prep, U.S citizenship test prep, resume assistance, Microsoft Office support, and Career Resources which lists popular job search links. Microsoft Office support allows patrons to ask questions about Excel, Word and PowerPoint. The Writing Lab, Send Question Center and the Skills Building are also included.     




Choose a book with the Books & Authors resource, learn about cooking, automotive repair, or a wide variety of other topics with Gale Resources. Through the State Library of Iowa the Madrid Library  provides free 24/7 access to a these resources. All you need is your library card.

Credo is an easy-to-use tool for research, homework, and other reference needs. Credo logoGather background information on your topic from over one thousand full-text encyclopedias and subject handbooks, as well as 500,000+ images and audio files and over 1,000 videos.

Adventure Pass

The Iowa Libraries Adventure Pass is an online program that allows library patrons to use their library cards to visit area attractions, museums, and parks for free.  The Madrid Public Library currently has passes available to the Blank Park Zoo. Passes are available 24/7 through our website, and reservations can be made up to 90 days in advance.
