Apollo to the Moon – the 50th Anniversary of Apollo 11 program

July 15 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

On July 20, 1969, Apollo 11 landed on the Moon, achieving the goal set nine years earlier by then President John F. Kennedy, “…to land a man on the Moon and return him safely to earth.”

Apollo 11 was perhaps the greatest technical achievement of the 20th Century, the culmination of several robotic NASA Moon missions, the Mercury and Gemini crewed space programs, and a series of uncrewed and crewed Apollo test missions.

Join NASA Solar System Ambassador Dan Hoy as he explains the history, technology, and legacy of Apollo, including many past and present Iowa contributors to the exploration of our Moon and space.  This program is free and open to all ages.
