The City of Madrid is in the process of removing tree stumps from the parks and city right-of-ways. This process will be completed in four phases. Phase 1 will be to grind all of the stumps in the right-of-way (identified as 25 feet from the center of the street) and parks. Phase 2 will be to remove the stump debris down to 4″ below grade. Phase 3 will be to clean up and haul away all of the stump debris and phase 4 will be to backfill and seed all of the areas.
Manfull Construction of Huxley, Iowa will be the contractor overseeing this process. Please be patient as this will take some time.
We are also working on a bid project to repair sidewalks that were damaged as a result of the August 10th derecho. These sidewalk repairs will begin sometime in the spring of 2021.
Finally, the damaged playground equipment and structures at both Edgewood Park and Jensen Park are being removed and will be replaced as supplies become available.
