Planning, Zoning & Board of Adjustments

The Planning & Zoning Board oversees building, growth and zoning for the City of Madrid.  Any request for the Planning & Zoning Board must be presented on a Planning & Zoning Request form.  The completed form, along with any supporting documentation, must be returned to City Hall before it can be placed on the P&Z Agenda.  The Planning & Zoning Board consists of six volunteer members and one P&Z advisor:

The Board of Adjustment is the body established to:

  • hear appeals of decisions rendered by zoning administrators
  • interpret unclear provisions in the zoning ordinance
  • decide on applications by landowners to permit buildings or land uses which vary from the zoning regulations.

It consists of five to seven members who are appointed for four year terms:

Don Lincoln (term expires March 2023)
Denise Moore (term expires March 2023)
